sociodemográficas, ocupacionais/características do trabalho incluindo perguntas
sobre estresse no trabalho, baseado no Job Stress Scale (JSS) versão resumida. A
controle - alto desgaste (maior exposição); Alta demanda/alto controle - trabalho
ativo; baixo controle/baixa demanda - trabalho passivo; Alto controle/baixa
The aim of this study was to analyze the influence of work stress on perception of
health professionals in nursing units of urgency/emergency care in Campo
Grande, 2010. The study population were 169 of the effective professional
nursing. The data were obtained through self-completed questionnaire
approaching socio-demographic information, occupational / job characteristics
included questions about stress at work, based on the Job Stress Scale (JSS)
abridged version. The definition of the quadrant of stress exposure was based on
the median and classification resulted from the combination of four dimensions:
high demand / low control - high wear (greater exposure); High demand / high
control - active work, low control / low demand - passive work; High control /
low demand - low wear (not exposed). Self-rated health was grouped into two
variables: positive self-rated (very good / good) and negative self-evaluation
(regular / poor / very poor). The results show that individuals with high social
support had a higher percentage of positive self-evaluation (87, 7%) than those
with low social support (69, 1%) (p = 0, 009). Employees with high demands at
work have a lower percentage of positive self-rated (66, 7%) than those with low
demand (85, 7%) (p = 0, 008). Employees with high control have preponderant
positive self-evaluation (90, 0%) than those with low control at work (72, 3%) (p
= 0, 024). By controlling the confounders was found that the chance of negative
self-evaluation among workers with high wear is, approximately, six times higher
(OR = 5, 832) than among workers with low job strain (CI = 1, 087-31, 199).
