Resumen en portugues
Saneantes Domissanitários são substâncias ou preparações destinadas à higienização, desinfecção, desinfestação, desodorização, de ambientes domiciliares, coletivos e/ou públicos. Como produto submetido ao regime de Vigilância Sanitária seu controle é feito pela ANVISA e pelos Órgãos de Vigilância Municipais, Estaduais em conjunto com os Laboratórios Oficiais, Instituto Nacional de Controle de Qualidade em Saúde e os Laboratórios Centrais de Saúde Pública dos Estados. Neste trabalho foi realizado um levantamento dos saneantes, com ação antimicrobiana, encaminhados ao INCQS no período de 1998 a 2004. Este estudo propiciou conhecer as possibilidades da ocorrência de danos à saúde, bem como os índices de reprovação x aprovação dos saneantes ao longo deste período, além de contribuir no direcionamento das ações de Vigilância Sanitária pelos problemas levantados.

Sanitizing Products are substances or preparations for use in cleaning, disinfec- tion and fumigation within the home, in public or shared environments and in premises where people normally congregate. Also used for treating water. As product submitted to the regimen of Health Surveillance its control is made by the National Agency for Sanitary Surveillance (ANVISA), the National Council of State Health Secretaries (CONASS), the National Council of Municipal Health Secretaries (CONASEMS), the State, Federal District and Municipal Sanitary Surveillance Centers (VISAS), the Cen- tral Public Health Laboratories (LACENS), the National Institute for Quality Control in Health (INCQS), the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ), and the State, District and Municipal Health Councils, in regard to sanitary surveillance actions. This review cen- tered on the work that the INCQS had done in analyzing the sanitizing products with antimicrobial betweem 1998 and 2004. This study provide the bases to know the possi- bility of risk to health, as well as the indices of approval or not of the sanitizing throughout this period, beyond contributing in the aiming of the actions of health sur- veillance for the raised problems.
