Os primeiros dois pares de pernas e a face inferior do abdômen de Apiomerus nigritobus são densamente ocupados por cerdas entre as quais se encontra uma secreção colaginosa. Esta substância ajuda ao animal a imobilizar sua presa. As secreções são produzidas em células glandulares, dispostas isoladamente ou em pequenos grupos e localizadas embaixo da hipoderme. As células glandulares possuem protoplasma homogêneo e um núcleo em posição central. O aparelho excretor consta de um tubo cuticular comprido, de 0,2μ de diâmetro, que, dentro da célula, forma numerosas curvas. O canal é feito por células especiais da hipoderme. Sua abertura na superfície da cutícula não possui aparelhos auxiliares. A expulsão e o transporte das secreções efetuam-se pela pressão autógena da célula glandular.
