setembro/99. As amostras foram analisadas empregando-se os
métodos de Tubos Múltiplos e de Membrana Filtrante. As
A última
Abstract
This study is an attempt to correlate the influence
of scarcity of sanitation service over inhabitant health
conditions as well as over the region bathing conditions, in
the cities of Muriqui, Ibicuí and Itacuruçá Island located on
Sepetiba Bay, and also evaluate the condition of CONAMA nº
20/86 Resolution with guide of bathing condition.
The field research was performed into three stages
to support the thesis theme. The feature bathing condition was
evaluated through a campaign, collecting water sample beaches,
from May to Sep/99. The samples were analyzed using the
Multiple Tubes and Filtrant Membran Methods. The health
conditions were evaluated applying the Hepatitis A indicator.
In November and Dec/99 a prevalence study was developed
involving 159 school age children between 6 and l2 years old.
By immunoenzymatic test the anti-HAV presence was analisyzed.
In the last stage, Jan/00, a questionnaire was presented to
children’s parents, to evaluate social-economic aspects,
hygiene, food and entertainment habits.
According to the result of the questionnaire, the
water supply is made either by the municipal net and/or by
streams, and the sewage discharge in more than 50% of the
houses is made on cesspool. In addition, the result of the
bathing conditions showed, at that time, improper conditions
for bathing at Gamboa Beach- on Itacurucá Island, Muriqui
Beach, and 58% of the bad bathing conditions on Ibicuí Beach.
The prevalence found of anti-HAV among the children of studed
school was 9,52% on Itacuruça Island, in 33,33% of Muriqui and
36,36% of Ibicuí.
In the quetionnaire analisys, many risk factors to
be become associated to Hepatitis A, such as: roons and
water’s point inside home number’s, water supply origin and
safety complementary procedures, wastewater destination and
hause-wife school degree.
