Resumo
As séries com temática policial que retratam a ciência forense na resolução de crimes se tornaram um grande sucesso nas últimas décadas, constituindo fenômeno que alcança diversas audiências. A ciência e a tecnologia têm papel de destaque nessas produções, evidenciando conhecimentos e práticas essenciais à solução dos problemas apresentados em seus roteiros. A primeira década do século XXI viu surgir a fama da série de televisão referência ao se falar de ciência forense, CSI. Essa obra inspirou diversas outras, que obtiveram, em grande parte, reconhecimento de público e crítica. O presente trabalho investiga as representações da ciência e dos cientistas em três dessas séries: Dexter, NCIS e a própria CSI, através de metodologia qualitatiPós-Graduação em Divulgação da Ciência Tecnologia e Saúdeva própria fundamentada em análise de conteúdo. Com base em pesquisas sobre a representação da ciência em filmes, séries e programas televisivos, além de literatura referente à comunicação da ciência, discute-se como são apresentados os elementos de ciência forense nas séries; como os conhecimentos científicos são tratados por essas obras e como os cientistas são representados. Objetiva-se um maior entendimento da divulgação científica empreendida por esses programas, tendo em vista o importante papel do campo do entretenimento na popularização da ciência. Após investigação, foram encontrados diversos elementos e formas de comunicar a ciência forense nessas séries televisivas. Além do relevante papel da estética e do conteúdo científico em suas narrativas, pôde-se observar como os cientistas são apresentados e as questões sensíveis que podem surgir dessa encenação. Por fim, verificou-se que essas produções televisivas tratam a ciência através da atribuição de distintos méritos, de acordo com o prestígio que dão aos outros aspectos da investigação policial.

Police-themed series that portray forensic science in solving crimes have become a great success in recent decades, constituting a phenomenon that reaches diverse audiences. Science and technology play a prominent role in these productions, showing essential knowledge and practices to solve the problems presented in their scripts. The first decade of the 21st century saw the rise of the fame of the television series reference when talking about forensic science, CSI. This work inspired several others, which obtained, in large part, public and critical recognition. The present work investigates the representations of science and scientists in three of these series: Dexter, NCIS and CSI itself, through its own qualitative methodology based on content analysis. Based on research on the representation of science in films, series and television programs, as well as literature on science communication, we discuss how the elements of forensic science are presented in the series; how scientific knowledge is treated by these works and how scientists are represented. The objective is a greater understanding of the scientific communication undertaken by these programs, bearing in mind the important role of the entertainment field in the popularization of science. After investigation, several elements and ways of communicating forensic science were found in these television series. In addition to the relevant role of aesthetics and scientific content in their narratives, it was possible to observe how scientists are presented and the sensitive issues that may arise from this staging. Finally, it was found that these television productions treat science though the attribution of diferente merits, according to the prestige they give to other aspects of police investigation.
