Abstract
This study was carried out in the municipality of Itaboraí-RJ, which in the last 15 years has been going through a significant socioeconomic and environmental change due to the construction of a large petrochemical project (COMPERJ). Thus, this descriptive and retrospective work presents a survey of official data in the areas of public health entomology and epidemiology, from 2016 to 2021, aiming to characterize the spatial distribution of dengue cases and its comparison with building infestation rates (IIP ) of Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus in the municipality of Itaboraí-RJ. The main results showed three neighborhoods (Colonia, Quissamã, Nova Cidade) with Ae. aegypti, classified as high risk for dengue transmission in almost all years of study. It is important to highlight that these neighborhoods with high rates were also the same with the highest numbers of reported cases of dengue And they are located close to the surroundings of the urban region and the main highway in the city, soon impacted by the large undertaking, and with a large population density and few basic sanitation conditions, resulting in a scenario that favors the proliferation of mosquitoes. It was also observed in the results, after the applied statistical tests, an important decrease in the comparison of indices between the two species in the general average, culminating in the year 2020 with an IIP of Ae. albopictus greater (2%) compared to that of Ae. aegypti. During the study period, a total of 17 LIRAa were analyzed, 4 presented indices for Ae. high-risk aegypti for dengue transmission and, of these, 3 indexes with 5.2 (jan); 4.9 (Feb) and 4.2 (Oct) were in the year 2018. The same year that also had higher numbers of cases of the disease compared to the others.
