Este estudo abordou o impacto da pandemia de COVID-19 na saúde materna, com foco na mortalidade materna na Paraíba especialmente nos anos de 2020 e 2021. O objetivo principal foi conhecer e Razão de Morte Materna e caracterizar o perfil epidemiológico dos óbitos maternos ocorridos no estado da Paraíba no período de 2019 a 2022. A metodologia envolveu a análise de todos os casos de óbitos maternos por Covid-19, incluindo os dados relacionados à faixa etária das gestantes e puérperas falecidas, a raça/cor das mulheres e o momento da gestação em que ocorreu o óbito, com ênfase na comparação dos resultados entre o ano de 2020 e 2021, onde ocorreu o auge da pandemia. Pelos dados analisados, conclui-se que houve um aumento da razão de mortalidade materna de 62,39/100.000 nv em 2019 para 95,78/100.000 nv em 2020 e 126,67/100.000 nv em 2021 no Estado da Paraíba, com 9 óbitos maternos por Covid-19 em 2020 e 16 em 2021. A análise por identificou que a faixa etária mais acometida foi de 20-39 anos, com a raça "PARDA" sendo a mais prevalente. A maioria dos óbitos aconteceu em mulheres com até o nível médio de escolaridade. Os fatores de risco para o óbito abrangeram uma ampla gama de condições de saúde materna, entre elas, doenças crônicas como doença cardiovascular, doenças pulmonares, além de outras condições, como diabetes mellitus gestacional e hipertensão na gestação.
Abstract
This study addressed the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on maternal health, focusing on maternal mortality in Paraíba, especially in 2020 and 2021. The main objective was to understand the Maternal Death Ratio and characterize the epidemiological profile of maternal deaths occurring in state of Paraíba in the period from 2019 to 2022. The methodology involved the analysis of all cases of maternal deaths due to Covid-19, including data related to the age range of deceased pregnant and postpartum women, the race/color of the women and the moment of birth. pregnancy in which the death occurred, with an emphasis on comparing the results between 2020 and 2021, where the pandemic peaked. From the data analyzed, it is concluded that there was an increase in the maternal mortality ratio from 62.39/100,000 bv in 2019 to 95.78/100,000 bv in 2020 and 126.67/100,000 bv in 2021 in the State of Paraíba, with 9 maternal deaths from Covid-19 in 2020 and 16 in 2021. The analysis by identified that the most affected age group was 20-39 years old, with the "PARDA" race being the most prevalent. The majority of deaths occurred in women with up to a secondary level of education. Risk factors for death covered a wide range of maternal health conditions, including chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, lung disease, as well as other conditions such as gestational diabetes mellitus and hypertension during pregnancy.
