Abstract
The Transexualizador Process is a set of actions aimed at health care in the gender transition. It was instituted in the Unified Health System (SUS) in 2008, is based on Resolutions of the Federal Council of Medicine (CFM) and was redefined through Ordinance GM / MS nº 2.803. The objective of this research is to expand the debate about the place of the family in the transsexualizing process through first-person narratives about their experiences with these transformations. An exploratory and narrative study was carried out, based on conceptual theoretical premises of the social and historical sciences. With the Covid-19 pandemic, it was necessary to structure the field research in three phases: a) active search by participants through Facebook in the Mothers for Diversity Group, and sending banners and audio via Whatsapp; b) in-depth interview with two transsexuals; c) in-depth interview with three participants in the first phase through the Teams Platform. All contact between the researchers and the interviewees was virtual and at no time did they meet in person. Some understandings about trans families were reached, such as: being reunited as a mother or father of a trans child occurs in a solitary way and in the midst of a lack of information about the trans-visualization process; the fear of violence and discrimination is unanimous; there is an endless search for information, as an alternative to be with your children; there is difficulty in dealing with changing the name and detaching from the expectations built; from the experiences in the collective, the need arose to increase resistance for social justice, strengthen public policies and create legal apparatus to ensure their rights the search for health care begins on an individual basis that, out of solidarity, share the social itinerary and partnerships established with liberal professionals, NGOs, public and private institutions; the minority of families needed health assistance in the face of their children's trans process, those who needed it resorted to private assistance.
