Esta pesquisa tem como finalidade compreender a formação da coleção entomológica Fritz Plaumann. O objeto de estudo é a coleção e o colecionador. Tendo como entendimento que o ato de colecionar é uma prática cultural, e a partir da perspectiva da história transnacional, são analisadas as redes de relações científicas estabelecidas por Plaumann, com diversos pesquisadores e instituições estrangeiras e brasileiras; o intercâmbio de materiais científicos; a comercialização de insetos para fins de colecionismo e o fornecimento de espécimes para profissionais que atuavam em Museus e instituições de ciência. Fritz Plaumann apresenta-se como um colecionador-coletor preocupado com as questões ambientais e com a produção de conhecimento. A difusão de sua atividade de coleta na região do Alto Uruguai Catarinense foi realizada através da circulação e o comércio de espécimes e com a criação do Museu Entomológico Fritz Plaumann, na década de 1980.
Abstract
This research aims to understand the formation of the Fritz Plaumann Entomological collection. The object of study is the collection and the collector. With the understanding that the act of collecting is a cultural practice, and from the perspective of transnational history, the scientific networks established by Plaumann are analized, with several researchers and brazilian and foreign institutions as well; the exchange of scientific materials; the marketing of insects for the purpose of collection and supplying specimens for professionals who acted in museums and science institutions. Fritz Plaumann presents himself as a collector concerned Fritz Plaumann presents itself as a collector-collector concerned with environmental issues and with the production of knowledge as well. The diffusion of his collection activity in the Alto Uruguay Catarinense region was accomplished through the movement and trade of specimens and with the creation of the Fritz Plaumann Entomological Museum, in 1980.
