A febre reumática é uma das 300 doenças reumáticas conhecidas, que são enfermidades que afetam o aparelho locomotor, ou seja, os ossos, articulações, cartilagens, músculos, tendões e ligamentos.
É uma doença provocada pelos anticorpos que o corpo do próprio paciente produzem, após uma infecção causada pela bactéria estreptococo hemolítico do grupo AE a febre reumática é a única que pode ser prevenida. Por isso, o programa fala sobre ela e vai esclarecer seus sintomas, diagnóstico, tratamento e formas de prevenção. A apresentadora Marcela Morato conversa sobre o assunto com a chefe do Serviço de Reumatologia do Hospital Clementino Fraga Filho, Blanca Bica.Participações de Cristiane dos Santos Pontes, mãe de Emanuely Pacífico dos Santos, adolescente de 15 anos e Evandro Pacífico dos Santos, pai da paciente.
