Introdução: No Brasil, as epidemias da leptospirose acontecem a cada ano em áreas urbanas durante o período de chuvas
sazonais. Devido a este padrão acredita-se que a maior parte da carga da doença ocorra durante o período de chuvas. Porém não
existem estudos que tenham avaliado o padrão temporal estacional de infecções assintomáticas para confirmar esta hipótese.
