INTRODUÇÃO No novo mundo, 90% dos casos de Leishmaniose Visceral Humana são
oriundos do Brasil onde a maioria das notificações ocorrem na região Nordeste. A técnica
de PCR quantitativo para determinação da carga parasitária de Leishmania sp, em
amostras biológicas como medula óssea, pele e linfonodos, é um método sensível e
específico. Porém, na obtenção destas amostras é utilizado métodos de coleta invasivos
