| Abstract in Portuguese | O objetivo deste texto é apresentar a análise da produção científica brasileira sobre obesidade em crianças numa das principais fonte de informação de acesso livre do país, a SciELO. O acesso aos metadados das referências foi realizado via ferramenta intitulada “Sistema de Informação em Ciência e Tecnologia” (SICT/LATACI). Foram considerados apenas artigos científicos com foco em crianças na faixa etária até 12 anos, contabilizando 114 referências, 20,46% do total recuperado, sendo a grande maioria de autoria coletiva. Os artigos estão distribuídos em 27 periódicos e a afiliação dos autores em 20 instituições de ensino e pesquisa. A respeito do período, os anos 2011 e 2010 foram os que mais tiveram publicações. Sugere-se que o financiamento do Estado pode ter incentivado os estudos, tendo como parâmetro que 85% das instituições de pesquisas são públicas. | en_US |

| Abstract | The aim of this paper is to present the analysis of the Brazilian scientific production on obesity in children indexed in one of the main free access information source of the country, SciELO. The access to the references metadata was conducted through the tool entitled "Information System in Science and Technology" (SICT / LATACI). We considered only scientific articles focusing on children aged fewer than 12. As a result, 114 references were considered, representing 20.46% of the total retrieved, while the vast majority of collective authorship. The articles are distributed in 27 newspapers and the author affiliation among 20 educational and research institutions. Regarding the period the years 2011 and 2010 were those who had more publications. This suggests that the state funding may have encouraged the studies, with the parameter that 85% of research institutions are public. | en_US |
