| Abstract in Portuguese | Este trabalho aborda um fenômeno pouco evidenciado na Arquivologia: a dispersão de fundos. O interesse sobre o tema surgiu a partir da constatação de uma lacuna na literatura da área, para a qual a ênfase na defesa da integridade dos fundos parece ter deixado pouco espaço para a reflexão sobre a realidade de dispersão e fragmentação que caracteriza inúmeros arquivos em diferentes instituições de custódia. Neste artigo, enfrentamos o tema voltando-nos para os arquivos pessoais. Por meio da análise do acervo do antropólogo Anthony Leeds buscamos identificar causas e efeitos de sua dispersão. | en_US |

| Abstract | This work deals with a phenomenon little evidenced in Archival Science: the dispersal of fonds. The interest on the theme arose from the finding of a gap in the literature in the area, for which the emphasis on defending the integrity of the fonds seems to have left little space for reflection on the reality of dispersion and fragmentation that characterizes countless files in different custody institutions. In this article, we face the theme by turning to personal archives. Through the analysis of the collection of anthropologist Anthony Leeds, we seek to identify the causes and effects of its dispersal. | en_US |
