Este artigo trata de como intercâmbios entre cientistas japoneses e brasileiros, iniciados com as questões referentes à imigração japonesa, repercutiram em algumas políticas internacionais de saúde. A vinda de Mikinosuke Miyajima ao Brasil em 1918 marcou a identificação de uma agenda em comum entre brasileiros e japoneses representantes da Liga das Nações, tornando possível a focalização em alguns dos problemas de saúde pública relativos ao deslocamento de grandes contingentes pelo mundo, em particular, a ancilostomíase.
Abstract
This article discusses how the scientific ex-changes between Japanese and Brazilian sci-entists, which started with the problems on the japanese immigration, repercuted on some international politics on health. The visit of Mikinosuke Miyajima to Brazil in 1918 inaugurated the identification of a common agenda between the Japanese and Brazilian delegates during the League of Na-tions, helping to direct the discussions on the main health problems related to the dis-placement of world wide contingent, in par-ticular, the ancylostomiasis.
