Este trabalho tem como objeto os momentos e as práticas de lazer de jovens moradores do
conjunto de favelas de Manguinhos, localizado na cidade do Rio de Janeiro. São investigadas
as maneiras como se configuram os pertencimentos e os laços sociais através desses
momentos e práticas: as formas como se dão os arranjos coletivos em que esses jovens estão
inseridos e como são atualizados os laços de amizade, lealdade, aliança e conflito. Resultado
de uma pesquisa etnográfica, este trabalho aponta para a relação entre a participação e
experiência em um quadro cultural e social heterogêneo - com “múltiplos mundos sociais e
níveis de realidade” – e a construção da individualidade e da subjetividade dos jovens
pesquisados.
Abstract
The aim of this study are the leisure moments and practices of the young dwellers from the
settlement of slums of Manguinhos, located in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The ways by which
the attributions and social bonds are arranged up these moments and practices are
investigated: the means by which the collective arrangements where these young residents are
inserted are given and the means by which the bonds of friendship, loyalty, alliance and
conflict are updated. This work, which is a result of an ethnographic research, points towards
both to the relation between participation and experience in a heterogeneous cultural and
social condition – with “multiple social worlds and levels of reality” – and to the building of
the examined youth’s individuality and subjectivity.
