No Brasil o câncer do colo de útero é o terceiro tipo de câncer que acomete as mulheres, levando muitas vezes ao óbito, se não for diagnosticado e tratado a tempo. Apesar do acesso à informação e ao exame de detecção, muitas mulheres se envergonham de expor o corpo, temem o resultado e outras não conseguem conciliar o horário do trabalho ao do exame, levando assim a diagnósticos tardios e consequentemente a mortalidade por essa neoplasia. A Estratégia de Saúde da Família (ESF) tem papel fundamental junto às mulheres, quanto à informação e orientação, através de campanhas e ações educativas, e realização do exame de citologia oncótica para a prevenção da doença avançada. Este trabalho tem o objetivo de contribuir para a prevenção e redução da morbi-mortalidade de mulheres por câncer do colo do útero em Jaboatão dos Guararapes-PE.
Abstract
In Brazil the cervical neoplasm is the third type of cancer that attacks the women,
leading very often to the death, if it is not diagnosed and treated on time. In spite of
the access to the information and to the exam for its detection, many women are
ashamed of exposing their body, fear the result and others do not get to reconcile the
time-table from the work to that of the examination, leading so to late diagnoses and
consequently the mortality for this neoplasm. The Strategy of Health of the Family
(ESF) has basic paper near the women, as for the information and direction, through
campaigns and educative actions, and realization of the pap smear in order to
prevent the advanced disease. This work has the objective to contribute to the
prevention and reduction of the women's morbi-mortality for cervical neoplasm in
Jaboatão dos Guararapes-PE.
