Abstract: The effects of the antileishmanial chalcone 2',6'-dihydroxy-4'-methoxychalcone (DMC) on Leishmania amazonensis sterol composition and biosynthesis were investigated to obtain information about the mechanism of growth inhibition by DMC on this parasite.
