Este trabalho objetiva o levantamento do perfil fitoquímico e a análise do potencial antimicrobiano da planta Hyptis leucocephala Mart. (Lamiaceae). Para as investigações, foram realizadas consultas nas plataformas de pesquisa: Medical Literature Analysis and Retrievel System Online - MedLine (PubMed), Scientific Eletronic Library – SciELO, Literatura Latina-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde – LILACS, Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e Dissertações – BDTD e Google Scholar, utilizando as palavras-chave “Hyptis leucocephala Mart.”, “perfil fitoquímico” “antibacteriano”, “antifúngico” e “antimicrobiano”. Observouse que a maioria das substâncias pertencem a classe dos monoterpenos, quanto a atividade antimicrobiana, observou-se, ainda, a sua efetividade frente as cepas de Staphylococcus aereus, Micrococcus luteus, Salmonella choleraesuis, Escherichia coli, Bacillus cereus, Candida albicans, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus schleiferi, Bacillus pumillus, Burkholderia cepacia, Corynespora cassiicola e Klebsiella pneumoniae. Concluiu-se que os estudos científicos disponíveis na literatura apontam que a planta H. leucocephala apresenta constituintes fitoquímicos que conferem a ela grande potencial antimicrobiano.
Abstract
This work aims to survey the phytochemical profile and analyze the antimicrobial potential of the plant Hyptis leucocephala Mart. (Lamiaceae). For the investigations, consultations were carried out in the research platforms: Medical Literature Analysis and Retrievel System Online - MedLine (PubMed), Scientific Electronic Library - SciELO, Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences - LILACS, Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations – BDTD and Google Scholar, using the keywords “Hyptis leucocephala Mart.”, “phytochemical profile”, “antibacterial”, “antifungal” and “antimicrobial”. It was observed that most substances belong to the class of monoterpenes, in terms of antimicrobial activity, its effectiveness was observed against strains of Staphylococcus aereus, Micrococcus luteus, Salmonella choleraesuis, Escherichia coli, Bacillus Stacereus, Candida albicans, Pseudomonas aeruginosa schleiferi, Bacillus pumillus, Burkholderia cepacia, Corynespora cassiicola and Klebsiella pneumoniae. It is concluded that the scientific studies available in the literature indicate that the plant H. leucocephala has phytochemical constituents that give it great antimicrobial potential.
