Abstract
Aiming to replace the radioisotopic assay, the widely used procedure for vitro antimalarial drug screening, we set up a protocol using a Plasmodium falciparum strain transformed with the green fluorescent protein (PfGFP), which can be quickly and specifically quantified by flow cytometry. On the basis of a side-by-side comparison, this PfGFP-based method showed results similar to those obtained with the standard radioisotopic method. (C) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved
