Abstract
This work aims to discuss the film “Die Welle” as a promising way to debate the authoritarian waves in the field of education, in light of the contributions of Paulo Freire, also dialoging with the reflections of Gaston Bachelard about the scientific spirit, Deleuze and Guattari to respect for art as a power of thought and, also, Alain Bergala on the “pedagogy of the fragment” for reading cinematographic images. The film “Die Welle” presents two cinema versions (1981 and 2008) and its relevance and relevance are greatly sustained in the times in which we live. The narrative is based on real events, in which a teacher in the United States works on autocracy with high school students at the end of the 60s of the last century, a time of many questions about social inequalities. “Die Welle” raises many possibilities for interesting debates regarding both the role of the teacher and the pressure of the social group. In any case, the authoritarian waves in education and the possibility of transformation are of particular relevance in adolescence, the target audience worked in the classroom in the film. This is, without a doubt, a crucial period in the formation of identities, one of the most urgent and relevant debates in recent times.
