Abstract in Portuguese
Introduction: This article aims to present the experience of implementing PREMIS preservation metadata for the digitization of audiovisual videographic records, based on the development of the Preservation Management System (SGP) of VideoSaúde-Distribuidora da Fiocruz (VSD). The system was designed to work with information packages described in the OAIS Standard, integrating a preservation ecosystem, from the creation of Submission Information Packages (SIP) to archiving in the digital preservation repository (Archivematica). Objective: Develop strategies for preserving videographic records through the creation, recording and sharing of preservation metadata in digitization processes of these materials. Methodology: Presenting a review of the literature on digitization as a preservation event, preservation strategies and the PREMIS metadata standard. Results: Submission information packages originating in the magnetic tape digitization process, as part of the preservation event, must consist of preservation metadata about the process history. The metadata are recorded upon ingestion in the digital preservation repository with the aim of supporting the presumption of authenticity of the digitized records. Conclusion: There are advances in the practical understanding of actions related to the digitization flow of VSD audiovisual and videographic documents, however, the implementation of preservation metadata within the scope of the SGP-VSD still lacks understanding to improve the system and metadata generation functionality process history with the PREMIS standard.
