Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar o significado do trabalho para adolescentes que frequentam uma organização não governamental (ONG), cujo objetivo é oferecer formação técnica profissionalizante e buscar inserção na forma de estágios remunerados para adolescentes carentes. Para apreender o sentido do trabalho, entrevistaram-se trinta adolescentes ligados a essa ONG que estavam trabalhando. Uma análise de conteúdo automatizada, utilizando o software Alceste®, foi aplicada na análise das entrevistas. A análise dos dados indica três categorias de discurso, com aspectos positivos e negativos do trabalho: carreira profissional, na qual o trabalho aparece como uma via para ascensão social; trabalho, lazer e família, na qual o trabalho aparece como meio de prover a si e a família; projeto pessoal, na qual o trabalho aparece associado à responsabilidade e participação social.
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to analyze the
meaning of labor for adolescents who frequent a nongovernmental organization (NGO) that aims to offer
vocational and technical training and seeks inclusion
in the form of paid internships for disadvantaged
young people. To grasp the meaning of labor, interviews were carried out among thirty adolescents who
were associated with this NGO and were working.
An automated content analysis, using the Alceste®
software, was applied to examine the interviews. The
analysis points to three categories of discourse, with
positive and negative aspects of labor: careers, in which
work appears as an avenue for social mobility; work,
leisure, and family, in which labor is seen as a means
to provide for themselves and their families; personal
project, in which it is associated with responsibility
and social participation.
