A hanseníase é uma doença infectocontagiosa, de caráter crônico, que acomete a pele e os nervos periféricos. No Brasil permanece como um problema de saúde pública, sendo endêmica em algumas regiões. O objetivo deste estudo foi traçar o perfil epidemiológico e verificar as áreas com maior concentração de casos no município de Dourados/MS, no período de 2005 a 2010. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, retrospectivo. A população de estudo foi composta pelos casos notificados no Sistema Nacional de Agravos de Notificação e nas fichas do Centro
de Referência em Tuberculose e Hanseníase. Os coeficientes de prevalência e detecção apresentaram-se muito próximos, caracterizando o município como endêmico. A maioria dos pacientes foi descoberta por formas passivas. Houve predomínio do sexo masculino, da raça branca, baixa escolaridade e maior acometimento da faixa etária economicamente ativa, média de 45,5 anos. As formas paucibacilares foram mais identificadas, com predomínio da forma indeterminada. Todos os pacientes realizaram a avaliação do grau de incapacidade no momento do diagnóstico, sendo que 33,0% apresentaram algum grau de incapacidade. A baciloscopia foi realizada na maioria dos casos. Foi verificado que os bairros mais antigos e os localizados nas regiões periféricas do município apresentaram a maior concentração de casos.
Abstract
Leprosy is infectious-contagious disease, chronic character, which affects skin and peripheral nerves. In Brazil remains a public health problem being endemic in some regions. The aim of this study was to trace the epidemiological profile and check the areas with the highest concentration of cases in the municipality of Dourados/MS, in the period from 2005 to 2010. It is a descriptive, retrospective study. The study population was composed of reported cases in the National System of reportable
diseases and in the schedules of the reference center in tuberculosis and leprosy. Detection and prevalence coefficients were very close, featuring the municipality as endemic. Most of the patients was discovered by passive forms. There was a predominance of males, the white race, low educational level and greater involvement of economically active age group, an average of 45.5 years. The paucibacillary forms were identified, with a predominance of indeterminate form. All patients underwent the assessment of the degree of incapacity at the time of diagnosis, with 33.0% showed some degree of disability. The smear was performed in most cases. It was verified that the oldest neighborhoods and located in peripheral regions of the municipality had the highest concentration of cases.
