Após a implantação do repositório da Escola Nacional de Saúde Pública Sergio Arouca
(ENSP), identificou-se que a participação da comunidade acadêmica não corresponde
ao esperado perante a política mandatória de acesso l que foi instituída na ENSP. Além
do alinhamento ao movimento em favor do acesso livre à informação científica e
tecnológica, um dos benefícios de maior destaque e que também justifica a cada vez
mais crescente adoção dos repositórios pelas instituições é o impacto na ampliação da
visibilidade das produções dos pesquisadores. Por isso, este trabalho avalia o
repositório de informações técnicas e científicas da ENSP de acordo com os critérios
que conferem o alcance dos benefícios em sua adoção. Este estudo procurou identificar
as iniciativas de avaliação e certificação de repositórios já consolidadas e utilizadas
pelas universidades e centros de pesquisa. Após a análise dessas, optou-se em selecionar
a técnica da iniciativa que concentrava o maior peso e destaque aos critérios referente à
visibilidade do repositório no meio acadêmico e na internet em geral.
Abstract
After the deployment of the repository at the National School of Public Health Sergio
Arouca (ENSP), it was found that the participation of the academic community does not
match expected before the mandatory open access policy that was instituted in the
ENSP. Besides aligning the movement in favor of open access to scientific and
technological information, one of the most outstanding benefits and which also justifies
the ever-increasing adoption of repositories institutions is the impact in expanding the
visibility of the productions of the researchers. Therefore, this study evaluates the
repository of scientific and technical information from the National School of Public
Health Sergio Arouca (ENSP) in accordance with the criteria that confer benefits in the
scope of its adoption. This study sought to identify initiatives for evaluation and
certification of repositories already consolidated and used by universities and research
centers. After analyzing these, it was decided to select the technique of initiative that
concentrated the greater weight and emphasis on criteria related to the visibility of the
repository in academia and the internet in general. Thus, when applying these criteria
and check the score achieved was possible to identify the weaknesses and strengths of
the repository in order to guide actions for continuous improvement practices repository
ENSP.
