Abstract
This research aims to analyze the discourse of the students of the technical nursing course from CEFET/RJ UNED-NI, based on the theoretical debate of issues related to the working field and education in the capitalist society. Ultimately, this dissertation seeks to contribute also to the debate regarding the training provided by this Institution. The relevance of the theme lies on the possibility of reflecting about the speech of the students regarding the professional training in healthcare offered by CEFET/RJ UNED-NI and the perspectives for their insertion in the healthcare field as technical workers. The analysis material was collected through interviews with learners from the referred Institution and the data analysis was conducted with a descriptive and exploratory approach, pointing out some elements to an articulation between discourse and ideology, as stated by the French-Brazilian theory of speech analysis. The dissertation is structured in three chapters. The first one deals with the criticism to the consideration of work as human capital and to the structural duality in the capitalist social form. The second one presents a brief history of the professional education in Brazil; discusses the social division of work in nursing, in regard to the privatization processes in the formation in the area; defends the bases of the purpose of integrated curriculum in the federal education network; and offers a criticism of the counterreformation of secondary school (Federal Law 13.415, February 2017). The third chapter presents the research field and the data analysis. It is concluded that the young people’s speech indicates a quest for a continuation of education and a certain denial of the technical being as a counterpoint to the structural duality prescribed but also as a reproduction of this same duality. A second crucial issue was the demand for professional security and stability, running counter to the current speech on entrepreneurship and free enterprise. Finally, the discourse of the interviewees indicated a partial depreciation of the integrated curriculum, pointing to the need of deepening the discussion of this issue among young people.
