Pretende-se neste ensaio analisar algumas relações entre games, história e monumentos históricos. Entendemos que o uso de referências e discursos tipicamente vinculados a temas históricos na produção de games configura-se como uma nova forma de representação da história inserida na produção de mercadorias
culturais da Indústria Cultural, tal como conceitualizada por Adorno e Horkheimer (1985). Esta representação histórica é marcada, em alguns jogos, pela relação com uma narrativa de característica monumental e centrada na figura do herói, onde o diálogo com os chamados monumentos históricos e os discursos museográficos ocupa um lugar de destaque.
