A disponibilidade de água potável e segura é um direito e uma condição indispensável para vida, garantidos pela Constituição Federal e pelo Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS). Em sua tabela 3, a Portaria 518/2004 - MS apresenta o padrão de potabilidade para substâncias químicas que representam risco à saúde e estabelece os valores máximos permitidos (VMP) em água para consumo humano para uma série de agrotóxicos, em sua maioria substâncias organocloradas. No entanto, somente a água distribuída pela rede geral de abastecimento tem a sua qualidade avaliada através do monitoramento realizado pelas companhias distribuidoras em seus laboratórios. O monitoramento da água das soluções alternativas apresenta uma dificuldade peculiar, pois muitas vezes não há um responsável ao qual possa ser formalmente imputado o controle da qualidade da água fornecida. No sentido de atender a necessidade de monitoramento da água das soluções alternativas, o objetivo principal deste trabalho foi a validação e a implementação de um método para análise de agrotóxicos organoclorados em água potável no Laboratório Central Noel Nutels/Rio de Janeiro visando o menor custo, menor tempo de execução, e menor geração de resíduos. O método escolhido foi a microextração líquido-líquido dispersiva (MELLD), onde uma mistura de solvente de extração, mais denso e imiscível no meio aquoso, com um solvente de dispersão miscível em ambos, é rapidamente injetada na amostra aquosa por meio de uma seringa. A análise instrumental foi efetuada por cromatografia à gás com detecção por captura de elétrons. O método foi validado para 12 agrotóxicos sendo: 4,4 -DDT, 2,4 -DDT, alfa-endossulfam, beta-endossulfam, alfa-HCH, beta-HCH, gama-HCH, delta-HCH, endrin, hexaclorobenzeno, metoxicloro e trifuralina. Os parâmetros de validação verificados encontraram-se todos dentro das faixas exigidas pelas normas em vigor.

O teste com duas misturas de solvente de extração revelou que a mistura tetracloroetileno/acetona apresentou os melhores resultados em comparação com a de clorobenzeno/acetona. A análise de 10 amostras de água provenientes de soluções alternativas de abastecimento espalhadas pelo município de São José do Vale do Rio Preto/RJ mostrou que não há contaminação pelos agrotóxicos estudados, sendo todos os valores obtidos abaixo do limite de quantificação.
